Yoga Teacher Training (200 hours)
May 17 2021
The 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training at Evolve Yoga in Wigton, Cumbria, led by Anne-Marie Pearson, covered both developing a deeper personal yoga practice and gaining the skills and confidence to teach others. The training had a strong focus on safe, functional movement, exploring anatomy, alignment, flexibility, strength and stability, including how to work appropriately with hypermobility and restricted movement. It was predominantly flow-based, drawing influences from Vinyasa, Forrest, Yin and Restorative Yoga, and taught how to adapt yoga to suit different bodies rather than expecting bodies to fit particular poses. Alongside physical practice, the course developed teaching, sequencing and class-management skills, safe practice and an understanding of how to support individual students. It also encouraged self-enquiry, compassion and personal development, making the training as much about understanding yourself and your own practice as learning how to become a yoga teacher.

Aromatherapy Massage: Single Oil Practice — North Star Academy
Aromatherapy Massage: Single Oil Practice is a professional training course for qualified therapists and health professionals who want to work with essential oils and touch in a way that is clinically clear, safe and repeatable. Rather than teaching blending, it builds depth: learners work with one oil at a time, coming to understand its chemistry, safety profile, contraindications and therapeutic reach well enough that every treatment decision can be explained and justified. Around that sits a complete hands-on massage curriculum — a full-body sequence plus a shorter, clinic-friendly version — taught alongside somatic principles: how to read the nervous system in front of you, pace pressure and contact to a client's capacity, and hold a treatment that settles rather than overwhelms. Consultation, client care, hygiene, professional boundaries, record-keeping and business practice are treated as core clinical skills rather than footnotes. Assessment is practical and evidence-based: learners complete twenty documented case-study clients, building a portfolio that demonstrates competence with real bodies in real conditions, and the course is structured to meet the standards expected for professional accreditation and insurance. An existing Anatomy and Physiology qualification is assumed on entry. Graduates leave with a defensible single-oil framework, two working routines, and the somatic literacy to use both well.
This Reflexology Practitioner course provides learners with the foundations and practical skills of reflexology, including an understanding of how different areas of the feet correspond to different parts and systems of the body. Learners will develop skills in mapping and reading the feet, applying reflexology pressure techniques and massage movements, and confidently carrying out a complete reflexology treatment. The course also covers client consultation, contraindications and aftercare, relevant anatomy and physiology, and the principles of safe and professional practice, including hygiene, health and safety, confidentiality, professional boundaries and insurance.
This Embodied Yoga for Wellbeing course explores how yoga can be used as a supportive practice for physical, emotional and nervous system wellbeing. The course brings together mindful movement, breathwork, meditation, relaxation and body awareness, drawing on traditional yogic practices alongside a modern understanding of stress, regulation and the mind-body connection. Learners will explore ways of adapting practices to meet individual needs, encouraging greater awareness, grounding, balance and resilience. The course also covers safe and inclusive teaching, appropriate use of breath and movement practices, professional boundaries and creating supportive spaces where people can reconnect with themselves and their bodies.
This course teaches reflexologists how to look beyond the individual reflexes found during a treatment and begin bringing their observations together into a more meaningful, whole-person picture. It explores the possible physical, emotional, metaphysical and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) associations connected with different areas of the feet, while maintaining clear boundaries between evidence-based anatomy and more interpretive holistic frameworks.
Practitioners learn how to recognise patterns across different reflexes, consider how findings may relate to one another, and explore possible themes without assuming that any one sign has a fixed meaning. The course also looks at the energetic interpretation of the left and right feet, Yin and Yang principles, the Five Elements and meridian theory, alongside emotional and metaphysical associations commonly linked with different areas of the body.
A strong emphasis is placed on responsible interpretation, appropriate language and staying within scope of practice. Rather than diagnosing or telling a client what their feet mean, practitioners learn how to offer observations as gentle possibilities and invitations for reflection.
The course also teaches how to bring these different layers together to create thoughtful, personalised Reflex Insights treatment feedback, helping clients understand and reflect upon their treatment while keeping the approach grounded, sensitive and client-centred.
An introductory course exploring the emotional body and the ways our experiences, emotions and patterns may be felt and expressed through the body. The course introduces emotional anatomy, body awareness, interoception and the relationship between our emotional and physical experiences, while encouraging curiosity rather than interpretation or diagnosis. Participants are invited to begin noticing the body as a source of information and understanding, developing a compassionate and respectful way of listening to what may be present. This course provides a foundation for personal exploration and further study within the Held & Heard approach.
A professional development course for therapists, bodyworkers and wellbeing practitioners who would like to bring greater awareness of the emotional body into their existing work. The course explores emotional anatomy, nervous-system awareness, interoception, embodied responses and the ways experiences may be reflected through sensations, tension and patterns within the body. Particular emphasis is placed on listening without assuming, diagnosing or imposing meaning, using sensitive language, consent and appropriate professional boundaries. Practitioners learn how to incorporate Held & Heard principles safely and ethically alongside their existing modality, while recognising their scope of practice and when referral or additional support may be appropriate.
A comprehensive practitioner training designed to prepare students to offer Held & Heard as a standalone holistic wellbeing approach. The course brings together emotional anatomy, somatic awareness, interoception, nervous-system understanding, compassionate listening and safe, consent-led bodywork, exploring the body area by area while avoiding fixed interpretations of what a person’s body “means”. Students learn how to create and facilitate a complete Held & Heard session, including consultation, boundaries, contraindications, safeguarding, appropriate language, professional ethics, aftercare and referral. Through practical learning, case studies, reflective practice and assessment, students develop the confidence and competency to support clients in gently noticing, exploring and responding to their embodied experience while remaining clearly within the scope of holistic wellbeing practice.
